Black soldier fly farming
We are committed to finding economically viable solutions that turn waste into valuable resources. Our Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farm in Cox's Bazar currently processes around one ton of kitchen waste per day. The larvae produced are an excellent source of protein for poultry and fish farming, offering a sustainable alternative that also has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
However, significant challenges remain—particularly around the economics of waste collection, production, processing, and storage. We are actively experimenting, learning, and collaborating with a network of agri-entrepreneurs to develop a scalable model that moves beyond novelty and toward long-term viability.
We believe this initiative is an ideal candidate for climate financing, given its potential impact on GHG reduction and its current lack of economic viability without carbon credits—ensuring that incentives remain aligned with climate goals. In parallel, we are engaging community volunteers and waste collectors to build a more decentralized model using a model farming approach.
